The awards ceremony of the 2011 Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix took place on Saturday 19th 2011, at the Geneva Grand Théâtre.

The international jury, composed of watchmaking professionals, awarded the eleven prizes to best watchmaking creations in various categories. The winner of the “Aiguille d’Or” Grand Prix, officially the watch of the year 2011, is the amazing DB28 model by De Bethune. Here is a complete list of laureates:

The winner of the Grand Prix, and officially the watch of the year 2011, is the amazing De Bethune DB28. This horological work of art has a large dial opening that reveals the heart of the movement as well as the amazing spherical moon phase, crafted in blued steel, which rotates around its own axis. It is available in ultra-light titanium or in rose gold, with anthracite or black dial. This watch shows hours, minutes and power reserve, along with a performance indicator. Everything is animated by the mechanical hand-wound Calibre DB 2115 movement that allows for extraordinary 6 days of power reserve. De Bethune DB28 retails at 80,000 Swiss Francs.
