IWC Schaffhausen presents a new addition to its celebrated Portofino line. This time, the brand presents the Portofino Hand-Wound Pure Classic, a simple and elegant timepiece distinguished by its minimalist design married with a refined, in-house, hand-wound caliber.
IWC Portofino Hand-Wound Pure Classic is a simple two-hander of a pure, modest design that accentuates the very essence of elegance by removing any unnecessary additions to the basic time telling functions. Designed simply to show the time of the day, the model is a true embodiment of precise timekeeping. To keep this watch as discrete as possible, IWC has moved the power reserve display to the back of the case, where it appears underneath the sapphire crystal glass.

The case of the IWC Portofino Hand-Wound Pure Classic measures 43,5mm in diameter, but thanks to its traditional, arched-edge front glass, it appears much smaller. The case houses the IWC hand-wound 59060 calibre that, once fully wound, runs on 192 hours of power reserve. In other words, the wearer will need to replenish the stored energy every 8 days, by simply winding the watch via its crown.

The upper bridge of the movement serves as a bearing for the barrel, the winding mechanism, and the differential; while the lower bridge provides a stage for the power reserve indicator. The movement beats at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, while the four golden weight screws on the balance contribute to its superior precision.

IWC Portofino Hand-Wound Pure Classic comes in two different versions: in red gold (Ref. IW511101) with silver-plated dial and gold-plated hands and indices, and in stainless steel version (Ref. IW511102) with a silver-plated dial, rhodium-plated hands and indices. Depending on the version, the watch is mounted on either brown or black leather strap, which is made exclusively for IWC Schaffhausen by famous Italian shoe manufacturer Santoni.

The Portofino Hand-Wound Pure Classic is joining the brand’s permanent range, but it will be available exclusively at selected IWC boutiques. This model is water resistant to 30 meters.
