Longines returns to the roaring 70’s with yet another successful creation that combines the brand’s know-how, heritage and precision – the Longines Heritage 1973.
The Longines Heritage 1973 is modeled after the vintage model produced by the brand in 1973. The shape of the case, as well as the interplay of contrasts on the dial, evoke the elegance of the 70’s with modern twist. The watch is fitted with the exclusive column-wheel chronograph movement, developed and produced by ETA exclusively for Longines - Caliber L688.2 (ETA A08.L01). The mechanism beats at 28,800 vibrations per hours and runs on 54-hour power reserve. It powers the hours, minutes and small second at 9 o’clock, with additional date indicator at 4:30.
The watch is offered in two variants – with black or silvered dial, both with contrasting counters at 3 and 9 o'clock - black on the silvered dial and silvered on the black dial. The one at 3 o’clock is a 30-minute dragging counter, while the third one, having a same color as a dial, serves as a dragging 12-hour counter. A blue tachometric scale embraces the dial, allowing the readings of a speed measurement. A dot of Super-LumiNova, above each of the applied hour markers, ensures that the dial stays perfectly legible even in the low light conditions.
The Longines Heritage 1973 is crafted from stainless steel, and its cushion-shaped case measures 40mm in diameter. The back of the case is fitted with a transparent sapphire glass, enabling the wearer to admire the wonder of the movement and the delicate workings of its blue column-wheel. The model is sealed against the ingress of water to up to 30 meters, and it arrives on a black alligator strap.
