On the occasion of the BaselWorld 2016 trade show, Porsche Design presented a completely new watch collection named Porsche Design 1919. As announced by the famous German the sports and luxury-lifestyle brand, the new collection celebrates the iconic tradition in German architecture and design – the Bauhaus movement.
The new Porsche Design 1919 Collection embodies serenity, minimalism, and well-balanced forms, which are all key elements of the Bauhaus style. As Dr. Christian Kurtzke, President & CEO at the Porsche Design Group, explained: "With this collection, we are uniting the past with the future. We are honoring the Bau-haus style as a significant element of our brand’s DNA and are celebrating the upcoming Bauhaus centenary in 2019. I don’t know any other watchmaker that can convey these aspects with the same level of authenticity as Porsche Design."
Today we’re focusing on the new 1919 Datetimer Eternity Series, on which the reduced configuration of the dial draws the attention to the most vital timing information - the display of time and date. The Porsche Design 1919 Datetimer Eternity Collection comes in five individual models, each inspired by the purist clear lines and the functional aesthetics of the renowned Porsche 356. The collection embodies the elegance of the 1950’s and uses only authentic, high-quality materials.
