Porsche Design 1919 Datetimer Eternity One Millionth 911 Limited Edition

The famous German sports-lifestyle brand, Porsche Design, a subsidiary of  Porsche AG, has recently introduced a special new timepiece to commemorate the production of the one millionth Porsche 911 car. The new model, aptly named Porsche Design 1919 Datetimer Eternity One Millionth 911 Limited Edition.

In May 2017, the one millionth Porsche 911 rolled off the assembly line: a Carrera S in Irish green with a manual transmission and a special a commemorative plaque on the dash. Porsche is not selling this historical example, but Porsche Design offers the special 1919 Datetimer Eternity One Millionth 911 model and only 130 pieces are available for purchase (20 in the USA).

The exclusive new timepiece, an homage to the Porsche 911 and its rich heritage, is a charming three-hander in the 1919 collection, equipped with a date indicator. The watch is crafted from lightweight yet sturdy titanium, featuring Porsche Design’s signature black carbide coating. The rather large case measures 42mm across and 11.92mm in thickness, complete with a screw down crown and a screw-down case-back protecting the watch from water to up to 100 meters.

The grainy black dial bears a commemorative insignia representing the millionth car’s silhouette and text for 911 and 1000000. The Porsche Design icon, visible on the upper part of the dial, is inspired by the golden Porsche Crest on the front of the car. The Arabic markers for 12, 3, 6, and 9, as well as those sword-shaped hands, are filled with luminous material. A green seconds hand is identical to that of the car’s exterior, a color known as Irish green.

The watch is powered by the Sellita SW 200-1 automatic movement equipped with a special Porsche Design Icon rotor. The movement beats at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, offering a minimum of 38 hours of power reserve.

The 1919 Datetimer Eternity One Millionth 911 model is  mounted on a special strap made of leather used for the car’s seats. Even the stitching features the same thread as the sports car interior. Available at porsche-design.com for 3.950,00 € or $4,200.
