SIHH 2013 Preview: Roger Dubuis Excalibur Table Ronde
Roger Dubuis has recently announced a completely new and unique creation named Excalibur Table Ronde. This interesting watch is inspired by King Arthur’s knights of the Round Table, and it is going to be officially unveiled at next year’s SIHH 2013 exhibition, in January. Roger Dubuis Excalibur Table Ronde is created in a limited series of 88 exemplars and it features 12 golden figurines of heroes with swords arranged around the enamel dial. The scene depicts the epic meetings of the knights at the round table, from where they would embark on numerous adventures in the search for the Holy Grail.

The center of the dial depicts the round table of King Arthur crafted in hand-painted enamel. The dial is the reproduction of the original Winchester Round Table from 1552, which was made by the order of Henry VIII of England for Holy Roman Emperor Charles V's. The name of the knight in old-English script is inscribed next to each figurine.

The watch is crafted in pink gold and it measures 45 mm in diameter. The gorgeous enamel dial is framed by a fluted bezel, while the knight figurines serve as time markers. The functions of the watch are propelled by Roger Dubuis automatic movement RD822. This mechanical movement displays hours and minutes, and it beats at 4.0 Hz frequency. The movement is built from 168 components and it provides approximately 48 hours of power reserve. Like any other marvel from Roger Dubuis manufactures, the RD822 movement is stamped with the Hallmark of Geneva.
