The latest addition to the Heritage collection is the Longines Twenty-Four Hours Single Push-Piece Chronograph.
Longines presents the Twenty-Four Hours Single Push-Piece Chronograph, a new model from the Heritage Collection, which pays a tribute to the precious heritage of this famous Swiss brand. The new model houses an exclusive caliber, and it replicates a vintage pilot’s watch that was fitted with a caliber initially envisioned for a pocket watch, and later modified for use in a wrist-watch. Longines took inspiration from one of the models that is now on display in its museum in St. Imer, a pilot's watch dating from the 1950s.
Longines has preserved the proportions of the original model, so what we have here is a rather large, 47.50 mm-diameter model crafted from stainless steel. The watch is available in two color options, with either black or silver dial. The sober character of the model emanates from the watch face, revealing the 24-hour scale, a small seconds counter at 18 o'clock, and a date aperture at the bottom of the dial. The outer minute ring and 24-hour scale coated with Super-LumiNova. Twenty-four-hour watches have an hour hand that makes one complete revolution in a day, and they are often used by pilots and other professionals because of the clear-cut depiction of a whole day at a glance.

The Longines Twenty-Four Hours Single Push-Piece Chronograph is powered by the new column-wheel caliber – a L789 self-winding, mechanical movement, based on the ETA A08.L21 . The mechanism is an adaptation of Longines’ own push-piece movement, and it is exclusively developed for use in this new model. In addition to the 24-hour display, small seconds and date, the movement also features a chronograph function. It beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour and provides around 54 hours of power reserve. The single pushpiece is integrated into the crown.
The circular case of this watch is protected with anti-reflective sapphire crystal on the front, while the reverse side reveals a solid medallion decorated with Longines' illustrious hourglass symbol. The watch is water resistant to 30 meters and it arrives on brown or black alligator strap with buckle, and with aviator’s extension. The Twenty-Four Hours Single Push-Piece Chronograph retails for $4,800. Each watch is individually numbered on the case-back.
