Chopard Reveals the Mille Miglia Racing in Pink

Mille Miglia is a name of the epic race that takes place in Italy, where the drivers race from Brescia to Rome and from Rome to Brescia. The first Mille Miglia race was held in 1927, but it was later banned after two fatal crashes. In 1982 the Mille Miglia endurance race was revived as a road rally event, and for over twenty years Chopard remains its official partner.

The first Mille Miglia watch was presented in 1988, and since then, each year is marked by new dedicated edition. However, racing watches have always been made for men. Until this year. In 2011, Chopard presents the new Mille Miglia graced with joy and femininity, highlighting the charm in its design and concealing the exceptional mechanism inside of the case.

The watch is crafted in stainless steel, measuring generous and masculine 44 milimeters in diameter. The watch is painted in pink, to appeal to the ladies, but still faithfully reflects the racing spirit trough a variety of details. There is a red central sweep-seconds hands and red minute markings, placed along with the red and white arrow-shaped Mille Miglia insignia.

The watch is animated by COSC certified mechanical self winding movement, which provides a power reserve of 46 hours. The movement is visible through the open case-back. The Mille Miglia Racing in Pink is water-resistant to 100 meters and mounted on pink rubber strap graced with 1960s Dunlop Racing tire-read motif.

The Mille Miglia Racing in Pink steel watch is issued in a limited edition of 1,000, and a version with a diamond-set bezel is also available in a 250-piece limited series.
