The renowned White Tie & Tiara Ball gathered the world’s greatest stars in a flashy congregation of style and prestige. The special guest was George Michael, but true stars of the evening arrived following the dinner, when the traditional auction on behalf of the foundation took place.
The pieces donated for the auction were a Gary Hume’s creation “Be Firm” and an Elton John’s Chopard watch with the outline “Be Firm” lacquered on the case-back. Also on offer were two Audis R8 Spyders, auctioned for £250,000, and a piece of art by Raqib Shaw “Study for Narcissus” auctioned for £600,000.

The collaboration between the brand and Sir Elton John is 13-years long and dates back to the encounter of Chopard Co-President Caroline Scheufele and the famous artist. The collaboration of two creative spirits and watch enthusiasts culminates in the unique and extravagant Elton John watch collection. This line of watches, issued by Chopard, reflects the artist’s special sense of style, and a generous percentage of sales is donated to the Elton John AIDS Foundation.
The new Elton John watch is a chronograph with hours, minutes, small seconds, date, chronograph's hand, 30-minute counter, 12-hour counter. The watch is mounted on vibrant pink strap, graced with a large Arabic numeral and set with diamonds.
