Corum Admiral’s Cup Legend 38 Diamonds Are Forever, the new haute joaillerie model, features no less than 1,444 sparkling stones, both diamonds and sapphires. Dazzling gems are creating a stunning effect, thanks to the skill of Corum's gemsetters, who have used their own hands to conduct invisible and snow-setting techniques on the golden surface of this piece.
The inspiration for this watch was driven from three keywords: floral, feminine and flamboyant. Shortly after the first sketches have been unveiled, it was clear that only the purest gemstones, fitting seamlessly together, could convey such a delicate vision of perfection. The floral dial motif was created with 462 stones in seven different sizes.
The gem-setters needed to reinvent the classic methods by cutting a notch into the gem to accommodate the seating that was to support it. The dial was then turned upside down, on a transparent plate, and a silver-based alloy was poured over its structure to seep into the tiniest gaps between the stones. The solidified matter, which now looks like a plate, holds 24 baguette-cut purple sapphires (approx. 2.04 cts), 138 baguette-cut diamonds (approx. 3.11 cts), 108 baguette-cut pink sapphires (approx. 1.67 cts) and 198 brilliant-cut diamonds (approx. 0.25 cts).
The case and the bracelet of Corum Admiral’s Cup Legend 38 Diamonds Are Forever wristwatch are decorated using the snow setting technique. A total of 804 brilliant-cut diamonds (approx. 3.79 cts) is used to cover the 18-carat white gold body of this pie.ce. The a white crocodile leather strap is secured by a folding clasp, which shimmers in a glow of diamond flakes 20 diamonds (approx. 0.21 cts) in 10 different sizes. This truly remarkable piece - from both inside and outside - is powered by a mechanical automatic movement, Caliber CO 082. It beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers 42 hours of power reserve. The white oscillating weight of the watch is entirely gem-set to reproduce the floral dial motif. The rotor features 71 pink sapphires (approx. 0.23 cts), 14 purple sapphires (approx. 0.05 cts) and 73 diamonds (approx. 0.21 cts).
