Corum adds to its Admiral collection, which is one of the oldest and most emblematic lines for the brand. The maritime-inspired range welcomes a freshly redesigned Admiral AC-One 45 Chronograph, a model from 2013 that has been modernized and improved. This sporty, masculine chronograph retains its main design features, except for a number of minor tweaks that make it look sleeker and more contemporary.
For example, the “60” hour marker at 12 o’clock has been replaced by the Corum key and brand logo, which makes the dial appear less busy, and makes reading time quick and easy from any angle. The case shape has also changed, so the Chronograph now features a more angular, dodecagonal bezel. In addition, Corum has included two titanium inserts between the bezel and the case, opening a possibility playing with colors and materials in the future.
The watch face reveals the same tri-compax arrangement, but with a new dial design. The dial is graced with a Grenadier fendu motif, which is unique to the brand. Furthermore, instead of monochromatic dials, the Admiral AC-One 45 Chronograph features black or white dials with contrasting sub-dials framed by either white or rose gold rings.
Corum’s new chronograph is powered by the Calibre CO 132, a self-winding movement that beats at 4 Hz, offers 42 hours of power reserve, 300 m water resistance, and decorative finishes specific to the house. The black dial version is available in either 5N 18kt rose gold or titanium grade 5 with black PVD treatment; while the white dial is available in titanium grade 5 or 5N 18kt rose gold. The new Admiral AC-One 45 Chronograph comes with a vulcanized rubber strap that features a triple folding clasp. A titanium or rose gold bracelet is also available. The price is $9,900 in titanium and $18,000 in gold.
