Corum Admiral's Cup Legend 42 with Gunmetal Blue Dial

Marina Milojević | 11.15.12 | 04:38 AM

Corum has released a special limited series of their flagship model Admiral’s Cup Legend 42.

This time, the famous sports timekeeper comes with an unusual blue dial, echoing the main design features of the first Admiral’s Cup Legend watches from 1983. The special series is a tribute to the historical model, and it is issued in a 400-piece edition.

The Admiral’s Cup collection was first unveiled in 1960, but it was not before 1983 that Corum's Admiral’s Cup wristwatches gained their recognizable identity codes. Ever since then and up to this very day, each of the watches from the Admiral’s Cup lineup features 12 nautical pennants as time-markers and an dodecagon case.

The choice of materials and their colors have varied through years, and now Corum presents a vintage-inspired Gunmetal Blue Admiral’s Cup Legend 42. The unusual shade of blue is obtained by a PVD Physical Vapor Deposition treatment. It echoes through the lugs, the crown guard and the dial, evoking the color that was widely popular back in the 1980's. Te bezel and the central links of the bracelet are made from stainless steel or 18-carat red gold.

On the inside, Corum Admiral’s Cup Legend 42 beats to the cadence of Caliber CO 395. This mechanical self-winding movement powers the hours, minutes and small seconds, as well as the date indicator at 3 o'clock. The movement is endowed with 42 hours of power reserve and it reveals itself through the exhibition case-back.

Corum Admiral’s Cup Legend 42 with Gunmetal Blue Dial is issued under the reference numbers 395.101.30/V705 AB10 (red gold) and 395.101.34/V705 AB11 (stainless steel).
