Corum’s Golden Bridge collection is enriched with another exciting model – the Golden Bridge Dragon – which is available in four different variants, all graced with a lavishly engraved dragon figurine that shields the hand-wound CO 113 movement.
Corum Golden Bridge Dragon was officially unveiled at the BaselWorld 2014 exhibition, where it was named as one of the Top 5 watches of the show, as selected by Elizabeth Doerr, Co-Founder and Editor in chief of Quill & Pad. The fantasy creature that inspires this creation is a symbol of life and power. Here, it is depicted as the guardian of the treasured linear movement – CO 113. This mechanical masterpiece is also available in “baguette” version, which is said to be a worthy descendant of the first ever baguette movement, introduced by Corum in 1980.
The famous linear movement is built along the vertical axis and extended by the crown at 6 o’clock. It beats at the frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and, thanks to its variable-inertia balance, ensures stability when setting the watch, and long-term regularity, in spite of shocks. The movement features a main plate and bridges made of red gold, with an upper bridge decorated with the hand-engraved Corum insignia.
The golden figurine of a dragon was first roughly molded and then engraved to the tiniest detail to create arresting three-dimensional effects. Corum Golden Bridge Dragon arrives in an elegant tonneau-shaped case made of red gold, which is fitted with four sapphire crystals: on the front, back and both sides. This creates a revealing transparency that enables the wearer to admire the dragon’s figurine from all sides. Two additional versions of the Golden Bridge Dragon model are graced with diamonds - the first one is crafted from red gold and graced with 422 round-cut diamonds (approximately. 4.46 carats) on the case and the folding clasp. The second with is made of white gold, and it features 80 baguette-cut diamonds (approximately. 3.9 carats) and 338 round-cut diamonds (approximately. 1.83 carats) adorning its case. Corum has also offered an urban interpretation of this model, with golden movement and grade 5 titanium case with a black PVD coating.
The case of Corum Golden Bridge Dragon measures 34.00 x 51.00 mm and it is 10.90mm thick. The model is water resistant to 30 meters and it arrives on a black crocodile leather strap. Reference numbers are:
