Corum Golden Bridge Rectangle

BaselWorld 2017

Ahead of the BaselWorld 2017, Corum extends its emblematic Golden Bridge collection to include a new rectangular case shape. The new design was envisioned and brought to life by renowned designer Dino Modolo, who enhanced the beauty of the elaborately finished movement with 18-carat gold structures representing six Roman Numerals. The new creation belongs to the collection that is quite unique in the watchmaking world. Its most distinguishing feature is a lavishly engraved linear movement that appears to be floating in midair. Four sapphire crystals, one on each side of the case, allow the wearer to admire the movement to the tiniest detail. The complex mechanism is, actually, supported by the golden bridge, which also gives this model its recognizable name.

Corum Golden Bridge Rectangle

In its latest rendition, the legendary Golden Bridge, for the first time ever, comes in a rectangular-shaped case. The watch takes its design cues from Art Deco, a style of decorative arts originating from the 20th century. Associated with luxury and modernity, Art Deco combined precious materials and superb workmanship put into modernistic forms. The timelessly elegant Golden Bridge Rectangle draws the eye to its magnificent caliber CO113, to reveal how the energy flows from its spring barrel at 6 o’clock to the escapement at 12 o’clock.

“The Golden Bridge is the capstone of Corum’s collections, an illustration of Swiss horology at its best,” Corum’s CEO David Traxler said. “Its innovative aesthetic and unique movement construction are timeless. With this new Rectangle version, we wanted to go further with the architecture of the timepiece itself to create yet another classic edition of our signature haute horlogerie timepiece.”

The Corum Bridges Golden Bridge Rectangle is crafted from 18-carat rose gold, perfectly proportioned to 29.50 x 42.20 mm. Complementing the case and the movement are the gold micro structures suspended between the panes of sapphire crystal. The magnificent manually wound caliber, CO113, beats at a frequency of 28'800 vph, promising around 40 hours of power reserve. The movement is mounted on 19 jewels, and sealed against the ingress of water to 30 meters of depth.
