The house of Harry Winston adds a new model to its Ocean Collection. The new Ocean Biretrograde Automatic, evocative of a majestic ship navigating the horizon of power and precision, features two of Harry Winston’s signature complications – off-centered hours and minutes, and a double retrograde display. The latest model of the Ocean Collection is housed in a luxurious round gold case, measuring 42mm in diameter. The elegant exterior is adorned with a splash of sparkling white diamonds, paying a graceful tribute to Mr. Harry Winston, the legendary ‘King of Diamonds’. A total of 367 brilliant-cut diamonds adorns this exquisite creation, illuminating two arches, inspired by the grand arched doorway leading to Harry Winston’s Fifth Avenue Flagship Salon, as they embrace the setting crown.
The nacre dial of Ocean Biretrograde Automatic 42mm reveals sweeping arcs and circles set with another diamond-stud constellation made up from 127 brilliant-cut gemstones. The off-centered hours and minutes counter on the upper half of the dial is rimmed by three rings of white diamonds and set against an opalescent white mother-of-pearl backdrop. Two semi-circular arches on the lower half of the dial are actually two retrograde counters, for the seconds and the day of the week, each with a diamond border and embellished with a wavy guilloché design, inspired by tide marks in the sand. A circular date window with a magnifying glass appears at 6 o’clock position, crowned by a diamond-set triangle. The hands are treated with luminescent coating, to ensure perfect legibility in all light conditions.
The Ocean Biretrograde Automatic 42mm is powered by the mechanical automatic movement HW3305, offering about 36 hours of power reserve. The caliber employs the latest silicon technology, which improves its resistance to magnetic fields and corrosion, its shock resilience, and its flexibility. Visible through the sapphire case-back is the 18-karat white gold rotor, which is hand-finished with circular Côtes de Genève motifs, rhodium plating and circular graining. The case protects it from the ingress of water, to up to 100 meters of depth.
The new Harry Winston Ocean Biretrograde Automatic 42mm is presented on an elegant blue alligator leather strap and fastened to the wrist with an 18-karat white gold ardillon buckle set with 44 diamonds. An 18-karat white gold folding clasp has also been included for additional comfort and security.
