Harry Winston unveiled its latest watch creations at Baselworld 2016. Among them is a new piece of the Premier Collection – the Premier Pearly Lace Automatic 36mm.
The Premier Collection was the first watch collection introduced by Harry Winston, back in 1989. The range, which is now emblematic of the brand identity, is distinguished by its signature three arches on the case, evocative of the façade of the Harry Winston Salon on Fifth Avenue. The collection captures the distinctive spirit of Harry Winston, and often cleverly demonstrates the company’s creativity in watchmaking. The latest addition to the Premier Collection remains true to Mr. Winston’s ability to transform nature’s bounties into objects of art. It combines feminine lacework design with delicate mother of pearl and a powerful automatic movement.
The new Premier Pearly Lace Automatic 36mm features a refined lacework design cut form a delicate, extremely thin white mother of pearl, of just 2.20 mm in thickness. The lace pattern features floral and sunray motifs, which emanate from the center of the dial. The rolling pattern of the lacework is superimposed on another layer of midnight blue mother-of-pearl, which is revealed rough the lacy reticule. Together, white and blue pearl discs create a game of contrasts, volume, and motion.
The Premier Pearly Lace Automatic by Harry Winston is made of 18-karat white gold, and it measures 36mm in diameter. The watch face is framed and illuminated by 57 brilliant-cut diamonds (approx. 2.32 carats) that have been set on the bezel and lugs. The case accommodates a beautifully decorated HW2008 automatic movement, which can be admired through the case back. The movement is decorated with circular Côtes de Genève and rhodium plating, and it features an 18K rose gold openworked rotor. The movement is built from 186 individual components and 28 jewels. It features a flat silicon balance spring, and beats at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour.
Harry Winston Premier Pearly Lace Automatic 36mm is presented on a blue alligator strap with ardillon buckle set with 17 diamonds (approx. 0.15 carat). The model is also available in a burgundy-colored version, made of rose gold and graced with Tahitian mother-of-pearl lacework and a rich burgundy mother-of-pearl dial.
Each piece of this collection can be considered unique, since there are no two identical shells in nature.
