Jaeger-LeCoultre launches its third on-line auction for the preservation of the world heritage sites.

A couple of months ago we had an article about Jaeger-LeCoultre tribute to one of their old and epic models: the Memovox Deep Sea. The original watch was introduced back in 1959. Inspired by the Jacques Cousteau’s famous documentary film “The Silent World" (Le monde du silence), this watch is remembered as the world’s first automatic diver’s watch equipped with an alarm.
This year, Jaeger-LeCoultre introduces the the Memovox Tribute to Deep Sea, a contemporary re-edition of the classic piece, just slightly enhanced and offered in authentic retro look. Moreover, a Prototype N°1 of the Memovox Tribute to Deep Sea “LeCoultre Spécial Amérique 1959” commemorative edition watch is now auctioned for the benefit of the Malpelo marine site.

Water-resistant to 10 bar, the Memovox Tribute to Deep Sea “LeCoultre Spécial Amérique 1959” commemorative edition is driven by Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 956 and nested in a steel case topped by a Plexiglas, in the spirit of the original watch.
The auction will provide watchmaking devotees with the opportunity to acquire this exceptional piece while contributing to the protection of an endangered marine site. Proceeds from the sale will be entirely donated to the Malpelo Flora and Fauna Sanctuary located 500 kilometres of the Colombian coast, in the Pacific Ocean and the surrounding maritime zone.
Bidding is to be open from April 18th 12.00 C.E.T to April 21st 18.00 C.E.T at JLC Auction Site. Participation will be open exclusively to those having registered starting from April 12th.
