Maurice Lacroix has unveiled the unique version of its Masterpiece Seconde Mystérieuse, which is created for the Only Watch charity auction.
Maurice Lacroix Masterpiece Seconde Mystérieus for Only Watch 2013, will be offered in the Principality of Monaco on September 28, 2013. All of the proceeds of the watch´s auction will be used in favor of the research on Duchenne muscular dystrophy. This unique all-black version of the Masterpiece Seconde Mystérieuse fetures an amorphous diamond-like carbon (ADLC) treatment on the case, the bridges, mainplate, dial, crown and the buckle. The model was introduced at this year's Baselwolrd and it immediately captured media attention thanks to its unusual seconds indication, the emblematic off-centered hour disc and its generously skeletonized dial.

The perplexing seconds make this watch truly unique. The seconds are indicated by the linear display with horizontal and vertical scales, which are read per 15 seconds. The silver hand, which rotates on its axis within the seconds indicator, looks like it is suspended in midair, as if it levitates beneath the sapphire crystal. This interesting attribute the is what earned it the name Seconde Mystérieuse.
Maurice Lacroix Masterpiece Seconde Mystérieuse for Only Watch 2013 is propelled by the in-house ML215 caliber, which can be admired from both the watch face and the case-back. This automatic movement beats at 18,000 vibrations per hour and it provides about 50 hours of power reserve. The part of the dial that surrounds the seconds indicator is skeletonized around the movement bridges, while the back of the case features a large sapphire crystal. The rotor, which is visible through the sapphire case-back, features a commemorative engraving that reads: "ONLY WATCH 2013 - PIECE UNIQUE 1/1".
The case is crafted from stainless steel and it measures 43mm in diameter. The watch is water resistant to 50 meters and it arrives on a black crocodile-skin strap. Reference number MP6558.
The Only Watch 2013 charity auction is taking place in the Principality of Monaco in the "Salle Belle Epoque" at the Hôtel Hermitage on September 28th 2013. The auction will be conducted by the watch auctioneers, Antiquorum. Prior to the auction, the unique contributions to Only Watch will be on display in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, New York, and Geneva.
