Maurice Lacroix has just released a brand new version of its Aikon watch, a model deeply rooted in the history of the brand. The modern day Aikon is inspired by the Calypso watch, the most successful product line ever, which was produced from 1990 till 2003. Aikon, the watch that takes its design cues from the legendary Calypso, shares its assertive, sharp, and strong lines with key design elements that have made Calypso a true classic. Available in three distinct versions (a 44mm quartz chronograph, a gents three-hander with a date, and a 35mm ladies model), the Aikon can be easily distinguished by its round case topped with a prominent bezel incorporating six „arms.“
This statement timepiece is now available in a brand new version, crafted from pure bronze. The Bronze Aikon model is housed in a large, 44mm case and paired with a vintage-looking, smoke-effect dial. The surface of the dial is further adorned with horizontal lines, while its aged appearance beautifully complements a thin layer of patina that will variously form on the surface of the case over time. The hour and minute hands are 4N gold plated and lined with SuperLuminova. The hours are marked with 4N gold plated indexes, while the date is shown through a square aperture at 3 o’clock position.
The Maurice Lacroix Aikon Bronze is powered by a practical and reliable quartz movement. The watch is water resistant to 100 meters, and supplied on a vintage calf leather strap, featuring the brand’s famous integrated ‘M’ logo, and a bronze pin buckle.
