OMEGA’s Seamaster series celebrates its 25th anniversary this summer. To mark the significant occasion, OMEGA has completely revamped the iconic Seamaster Diver 300m, a watch that Daniel Craig wears as James Bond in Casino Royale (2006). The famous actor also appears as the face of the campaign for the redesigned model. In the promo visual, he’s wearing an elegant tuxedo and a new Omega Seamaster Professional Diver 300M with steel case, blue bezel, and PVD chrome colored dial.
Launched back in 1993, the Seamaster Diver 300m welcomes a full redesign. In total, there are 14 new Diver 300M models, including 6 in stainless steel and 8 combining stainless steel and Sedna or yellow gold. Omega’s legendary diver is now sized at 42mm, and it features a new ceramic bezel with the diving scale in Ceragold™ or white enamel. The helium escapement valve has also been redesigned, so it now features a smooth, conical shape. The valve uses a technology patented by OMEGA that allows it to be operated underwater.
The dials are now made from ceramic, and available in three different color options: black, blue or PVD chrome. The collection’s emblematic wave pattern has been reintroduced and laser engraved; the rhodium-plated skeleton hands have been subtly redesigned, while the indexes have been raised and filled with luminous material. Adding symmetry to the dial, the date window has been shifted to 6 o’clock position.
On the inside, the Seamaster Diver 300m now features the Master Chronometer Calibre 8800, which can be admired through the sapphire-crystal on the wave-edged case-back. This self-winding movement with Co-Axial escapement is approved by METAS and resistant to magnetic fields reaching 15,000 Gauss. It uses a free sprung-balance with silicon balance spring and automatic winding in both directions. The movement has a rhodium-plated finish with Geneva waves in arabesque. It provides up to 55 hours of power reserve.
Each of the 14 new models is presented on an integrated black or blue rubber strap, or a traditional metal bracelet, which has also been redesigned. The new ergonomic profile features a patented extendable foldover rack-and-pusher with diver extension.
