Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Repetition Minutes a Rideau watch, details

A new watch from the Manufacture Jaeger-LeCoultre, the Reverso Répétition Minutes à Rideau, is a groundbreaking piece equipped with a completely new movement and an innovative design.

A couple of years ago, Jaeger-LeCoultre produced the Reverso Grande Complication à Triptyque, which was the first watch equipped with three dials. This was made possible by two faces of the case as well as the carrier base. With this piece, presented at the Salon International da la Haute Horlogerie, Jaeger-LeCoultre goes even further, creating the first timepiece with four faces, equipped with a pivoting curtain, which masks one dial while revealing the other in rotation.

This masterpiece is produced in a limited edition of only 75 pieces, destined to become one of the most prestigious Jaeger-LeCoultre creations. At the same time, this is the most complicated of all Reverso creations, completed with the minute repeater mechanism that audibly chimes the hours, quarters and minutes, on the single press of a finger.

A delicate pivoting curtain, composed of 270 parts and equipped with its own barrel, conceals the dial by default. Sliding it sideways, the wearer will automatically activate the minute repeater.

The watch is presented in a rectangular-shaped case measuring 55 mm x 35.00 mm, and crafted in white gold. Elegant sword-shaped blue hands and discrete grey hour-markers, which almost melt with the skeletonized background, display the basic functions of hours and minutes.

The face and the case-back are protected by top quality sapphire crystal, allowing for a view on the mechanism from every angle. The watch is mounted on black alligator leather strap completed with golden pin buckle. It is water resistant to 30 meters and thus suitable for everyday wear and occasional splashing.

This manually wound watch is equipped with in-house Calibre 944, adorned with circular-grained, snalied and satin brushed Clous de Paris and Côtes de Genève motifs. The bridges and mainplate are crafted in nickel silver. The movement is composed of 340 individual parts, equipped with 35 jewels and provides 35 hours of power reserve. A lot of energy actually goes on a minute repeater function, which is activated every time the wearer unveils the dial. The movement is completely crafted, assembled and decorated by hand.
