The watch is strikingly beautiful, designed in earthen tones, featuring two chronograph counters made from genuine petrified palm wood, to remind the wearer how precious the tropical forests are. This tree is believed to be 70 million years old, which really makes you think do humans have any inherent rights to destroy nature or set themselves above it in ethical considerations?
Palm wood is here embedded in the tawny brown dial adorned by Côtes du Jura. The dial also reveals “24-hour” display featuring two applied midnight blue & gold-toned zones, facetted hour-markers and emblematic Gouttes de Rosée golden hands. The sun and the moon, on the “24-hour” display, are designed in the classical spirit, inspired by the “return from Egypt” clock made for Marshal Joachim Murat, and the “Egyptian discovery” clock, which are original Louis Moinet’s creations dating almost 200 years into the past.

The case is characterized by the original Louis Moinet design, and crafted in combination of pink gold and stainless steel. The bezel is secured to the 45.5 millimeters wide case body using six screws. The case back is engraved with individual number and Louis Moinet symbols, inspired by the tropical forest. It also features a sapphire crystal window, which allows for the view on the mechanical self-winding movement with chronograph and dual-time display. The movement provides 48 hours of power reserve and provides following indications: small seconds at 9 o’clock, central 60-second chronograph hand, 30-minute chronograph counter at 12 o’clock, 12-hour chronograph counter at 6 o’clock.
The watch is water resistant to 50 meters, and completed with hand-sewn Louisiana alligator leather strap with crocodile leather lining. It comes in a special presentation box with the Louis Moinet book and hand-written guarantee. Available in numbered limited edition of 120 watches.
