Corum Admiral's Cup Seafender 48 Deep Dive

Posted 10 months, 1 week ago

Corum Admiral’s Cup Seafender line now features to new diver models, both offered in a limited edition.

The Admiral’s Cup line is launched in 1960. These watches are immediately recognizable by their dodecagonal bezel (that has 12 sides), and sporty nautical design. The new Admiral's Cup Seafender 48 Deep Dive belongs to the sturdy and sophisticated Extreme line, intended for adventurers with style.

The new duo features a model made in titanium and graced with orange luminova, and the other one in black PVD-finished titanium with red gold bezel and accents. Both versions are water resistant to 1,000 meters and designed for serious underwater adventures. This ultimate diver’s instrument has all that it takes to make a piece of professional gear: helium escapement valve, rotating bezel, and super-luminescent markers on the dial.

Both watches are rather large, boasting 48 millimeters in diameter. Their decompression is valve positioned at 9:30. This utility is great for professional divers operating at great depths for prolonged periods, or those diving under saturation. Helium escape valve releases the helium, hydrogen and/or other gases that have atoms small enough to be able to work their way inside the watch-case. This way, the pressure difference between the trapped gas inside the watch-case and its environment equalizes, which prevents any kind of damage to the watch.

In other words, the new Corum Admiral’s Cup Seafender Dive watches are in accordance with ISO 6425 standards: made of grade 5 titanium, having a case of 48 millimeters in diameter and 18.9 mm thick, with a screw-down back, and water resistant to 1000 meters (or 100 bars). The 120-teeth unidirectional rotating bezel allows for an easier reading of elapsed time and it is used to calculate the length of a dive. Unidirectional bezels have a ratchet so they can only be turned anti-clockwise, which is an important safety feature that minimizes the chance of unintentional bezel operation under water. Last but not the least, to ensure perfect readability, hands and indices are covered in black or orange Superluminova.

From the inside, the watch is powered by the COSC certified self-winding caliber CO947, with a power reserve of 42 hours. The watch offers central hour and minute, small seconds at 9 o'clock, day and date at 3 o'clock. Both watches are equipped with a vulcanized rubber strap and secured to the wrist with a titanium pin buckle.

The Admiral's Cup 48 Seafender Deep Dive in titanium with orange luminova is available in 200 copies. The second version, with a blackened PVD bezel in 18 carat red gold is available in only 100 units.
