A. LANGE & SOHNE voted for Germany's Top Luxury Brand

A. Lange & Sohne gained 239 points out of a possible 300, and ranked above many of the famous luxury brands such as Maybach and Porsche. The luxury score was based on pricing criteria as well as on the brand appeal (lust-factor). The score was calculated based on the information gathered from about 200 interviews with experts. Another high-end watchmaking brand is ranked 3rd - Glashütte Original, a contemporary watchmaking company founded in 1994 by the privatization of VEB Glashütter Uhrenbetriebe.

The final conclusion is that Germans value technical expertise and fine crafts much more than fashion and glamour. For example, the Munich fashion house Bogner was ranked 27th while the famous German fashion designer Wolfgang Joop ranked in the lowest class.
