Ahead of the BaselWorld 2017, the house of Frederique Constant introduces a new member to its Classic Manufacture Collection. This time, a new Worldtimer, designed for tracking time in 24 of the world’s cities, joins Frederique Constant’s exclusive collection of watches powered by its in-house Manufacture Calibers.
The Classic Worldtimer Manufacture has been redesigned and tailored to the needs of the modern man. In its latest iteration, the utterly practical model arrives with a sophisticated new brown color pattern, complete with the rose gold-plated stainless steel case. Intended for a more classical man, this watch of a dark brown design reveals a detailed world map, finely engraved on the surface of the dial. The names of the 24 cities, each representing one of the world’s time zones, are neatly arranged on the outer rim, tempting the wearer to embark on a new journey. The date is indicated by hand, at 6 o’clock position.
The new Classic Worldtimer Manufacture is powered by Frederique Constant’s in-house developed, produced and assembled caliber composed of 139 parts. To keep the watch as elegant and aesthetically pleasing as possible, the Worldtimer function is designed to be completely controlled by the hand, meaning that no additional push buttons or correctors were added. Moreover, Frederique Constant is the first brand to ever introduce such complication achievement. The crown has three positions. The first is for manual winding, the second allows the user to set the date and city, while the third allows the user to set the time.
The manually wound this FC-718 caliber features Perlages and Côtes de Genève decoration, and holds a 42h power reserve. The movement can be admired from the see-through window at the back side of the 42 mm case. The watch is water resistant to 50 meters, and paired with an elegant light brown leather strap with white stitches. Reference number FC-718BRWM4H4. Available at Frederique Constant online for CHF 3,795.
