The house of Frederique Constant adds a new model to its best-selling collection.
The famous Swiss manufacture introduces the Slimline Moonphase Manufacture, a model endowed with one of the most romantic horological complications. The Manufacture Collection, which now includes more than 20 in-house calibers, welcomes the ultra-flat Slimline Moonphase Manufacture, a watch designed with the attention-to-details, and finished according to the standards of fine watchmaking. The new Moonphase model is both simple and elegant, thanks to its streamlined, vintage-inspired design. The watch features a new ivory-colored dial with sunray finish, and crisp applied silver indexes.
This simple, restrained timepiece displays the central hour and minutes hands. In addition, it offers a poetic Moonphase indicator, complete with an illustration of the moon and stars. This interesting complication evokes the times of the early holologists who used to track and measure the movement of the sun and the moon, which was one of the earliest methods of telling the passing of months. This complication shows the current phase of the moon, as we can see it in the sky, so today it doesn’t have any practical value whatsoever. It is more of a whimsical, romantic complication that connects us with our past.
The new Frederique Constant Slimline Moonphase Manufacture is crafted from polished stainless steel, and it measures 42mm in diameter. The ivory-colored dial is covered with a convex sapphire crystal, while a see-through case-back allows the wearer to admire the inner workings of the FC-705 Manufacture caliber. This self-winding movement with date and moonphase indicator is mounted on 26 jewels and it offers around 42 hours of power reserve. The mechanism beats at a frequency of 28.800 vibrations per hour, and it offers up to 30 meters of water resistance. The movement is decorated using a number of high-end finishes such as perlage & circular Côtes de Genève decoration.
Frederique Constant Slimline Moonphase Manufacture, reference number FC-705BG6S6, is mounted on a black alligator leather strap with a steel buckle. The watch retails at CHF 11,250.
