Omega is launching a new edition of its famous Seamaster model from 1969. This particular version of the renowned Seamaster, which is revamped at this year’s edition, is known as the Omega Seamaster Bulhead.
The all-new OMEGA Seamaster Bullhead was secretly previewed at this year’s Baselworld, but it is now fully unveiled as a limited edition update to the iconic chronograph collection from 1969. Omega Seamaster Bullhead is easily recognizable thanks to its asymmetrical case and bezel, with a winding crown positioned at 12 o’clock and two chronograph pushers positioned on each side of the crown. The watch arrives in a distinctive shield-shaped case with inner rotating bezel. The pushers and the crown are retaining the old position, and they are only slightly changed. As you can see, the pushers are now flat, instead of being round, and there are two crowns on the case. The one at 12 o’clock controls the chronograph movement, while the crown at 6 o’clock puts the bezel in motion.
The major change, introduced with the new Omega Bullhead, is the automatic Omega Co-Axial movement, calibre 3113. The versions of this watch were powered by manually wound caliber 930, while the new edition uses a chronograph mechanism with a column wheel, based on Frédéric Piguet chronograph caliber.
The watch face reveals the same design as seen on the original Bullhead. In addition to the internal bezel with 24-hour graduation, the white dial shows chronograph counters at 12 and 6 o'clock, along with a date window at 3 o'clock, while the case-back reveals Seamaster’s iconic Omega hippocampus logo.
Omega Seamaster Bullhead 2013 is water resistant to 150 meters. The watch is presented on a brown leather strap and it is available in a limited edition of 669 exemplars.
