Frederique Constant Manufacture Tourbillon Grand Feu

Each of the dials is hand-made, after many hours of dedicated work, by applying finely powdered colored glass onto a metal plate and baking the plates at extremely high temperature, of more than 900 degrees Celsius, to get the smooth and unique surface.

Frédérique Constant Manufacture Tourbillon Caliber is based on the brand’s renowned Heart Beat Manufacture Calibre completely designed and developed in-house. It features light and lubricant-freesilicium escapement wheel and lever, and smart weight balancing of all 80 parts. Back in 2008, Frédérique Constant introduced a world’s first tourbillon watch with a silicium escapement wheel. The new piece is member of the same Heart Beat Manufacture Tourbillon series, but enhanced with genuine enamel dials. The use of this refined vintage technique celebrates the fifth anniversary of the Frederique Constant Manufacture in Plan-les-Ouates, Geneva, and evokes the incredibly rich tradition of the brand.



Each tourbillon cage is individually numbered to show the Limited Edition of 188 pieces. The movement provides 42 h of power reserve and beats at 28’800 BpH. The mechanism is generously decorated with Côtes de Genève and perlage, champher and rhodium plating on all the bridges. As a final touch, the movement is graced with heated blued steel screws.

A Day-Night complication is also build into the FC-980-1 calibre. Its function is visible from the watch face, where rose-gold and blued-steel “sun-moon” indicator reminds the wearer that the local time is entering a new day, or that a day is winding down. This complication is useful for long distance travelers and typically more informative tham a standard 24-hr dial.




Each of the unique dials boasts fine black Roman numerals black steel hands. As you can see on the picture, the dial boast pure sleek surface and high level of contrast, which is achieved using the Grand Feu enamel technique which makes the images on the glaze very pronounced and visible to the detail.

The watch is made in 18 ct rose gold and boasts 42 millimeters in diameter. It is fitted with convex sapphire crystal glass and able to withstand pressure of up to 3 bars (30 meters). Mounted on genuine hand-stitched Alligator leather with water-resistant lining. Additional folding buckle is included in the delivery box.
