Chanel J12 Inseparable for Only Watch 2019

Marina Milojević | 07.02.19 | 07:52 PM

This year’s edition of the Only Watch charity auction features the very first pair of watches in Only Watch history. The creator of this unique watch duo is no one else but Chanel, a brand that celebrates the 20th anniversary of the contemporary-styled Chanel J12 timepiece. To celebrate the anniversary in the best possible way, Chanel has updated and improved the J12, so it now features the Caliber 12.1, a new Chanel-exclusive Manufacture self-winding movement. Kenissi, a Geneva-based movement manufacturer that was acquired by Chanel earlier this year, is the producer of the caliber.

Chanel J12 is available in a choice of white or black polished ceramics, with a color-matching dial. The Only Watch duo, aptly named the J12 Inseparable, offers both of them. These medium-sized watches extend to 38mm in diameter, offering up to 200 meters (650 feet) of water resistance. Tone-on-tone dials feature matching typography, while accentuating the number 12 with rhodium-plated finish.

The most interesting feature of the duo is a special black execution of the new self-winding Caliber 12.1 visible through a sapphire crystal caseback. This new movement, that was officially presented at Baselworld 2019 is a COSC-certified chronometer with haute horlogerie finishing and 70 hours of power reserve. The automatic movement oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph, providing functions for the hours, minutes, hacking seconds, and date.

The Chanel J12 Inseparable for Only Watch 2019, H6349 & H6350, is expected to be sold at USD 10,000 - 12,000 for each piece. The regular new J12 is around $5,700. For more information, please visit chanel.com or onlywatch.com.

One of the best-kept secrets of the watch industry has finally been revealed – the Chanel Code Coco, a fusion of a watch and a bracelet, inspired by the clasp of the iconic 2.55 bag. Chanel has just unveiled the new addition to the Première watch collection - a stunning new H3258 ladies' wristwatch crafted in yellow gold and decorated with 56 brilliant-cut diamonds.

Like the rest of the Premiere collection, the new H3258 timepiece is inspired by the shape of the Chanel N °5 perfume bottle stopper, and the geometric proportions of the Place Vendôme. This unusual octagonal case symbolizes so many things that are important to Chanel. Chanel and Place Vendôme are essentially linked for decades. For Mademoiselle Chanel, Place Vendôme was one of the main sources of inspiration. She was the one to design the cap of her first perfume so that it recalls Place Vendôme’s geometry and proportions. The Première watch c...

Chanel Watch Collections

The first timepiece issued by Chanel was a watch named Première, in 1987. Just like the famous perfume Chanel N° 5, the Première watch adopted the shape of Place Vendôme, with its hands positioned in such a way as to evoke the Vendôme column in the center of the Place.

Place Vendôme, a square in the 1st arrondissement of Paris, and one of the oldest districts of the city, was once a home of Coco Chanel, a pioneering French fashion designer and a founder of the famous Chanel brand. Mademoiselle Chanel lived there at the Ritz Hotel in a room equipped with a rear door, which were an exit to her office, workshops and boutique, on the Rue Cambon. The Place Vendôme was also a cradle of the company's rich and successful history - it was here that Chanel launched her first collection of diamond pieces. Gabriel...
