Perrelet is preparing to launch its very first complicated turbine watch.
Until this year, Perrelet has kept its Turbine watches, famous for their in-house movements and their original rotating face, in a separate category. Baselworld 2013 sees the launch of the first turbine chronograph, which will be presented in a number of different variations. Each Perrelet Turbine Chrono measures 47mm in diameter and features a famous turbine rotor, as a part of the double-rotor P-361 movement.

The aesthetic of Perrelet Turbine Chrono is strongly inspired by the world of racing. This sporty chronograph , comes with a tachymetre scale bezel, an original centered 60-minute counter, and a date window at 6 o'clock . The 60-minute counter is actually composed of two sapphire discs – one engraved with the minute track and the other with a red MIN pointer. A classic red chronograph hand runs down the inner bezel, while the fixed MIN pointer indicates the number of revolutions made by the chronograph hand. This is a clever way to incorporate a chronograph mechanism into the Tourbine collection, without compromising its unique visual identity. This way, the famous Turbine rotor with its emblematic spinning blades remains visible from the watch face, while the exhibition case-back reveals the rest of the movement.

Perrelet Turbine Chrono will be available in stainless steel with titanium turbine and black under-dial; in black-DLC-coated case with black titanium turbine and black under-dial; in an “all-black” version; in black-DLC version with pink gold bezel ring and black turbine and under-dial; and in a black-DLC case version with bezel and turbine in pink gold, paired with a black under-dial. More information about this watch will be available from next month.
